Update: Recent Life Changes

changeiscoming

The highest of highs and the lowest of lows. That is how I would describe my summer. Nothing could have been predicted, that is for sure. While I could spend an entire blog talking about the emotional rollercoaster the last two months have been, that is for another day. To be honest, one blog wouldn’t even be able to cover it. I wanted to take time to reflect on the changes this summer has brought and express gratitude for them.

Sunday, June 7th I thought I was flying home to normalcy. Little did I know how wrong I was. Since that day the following events happened (& then sum… but those are for another time and another blog):

  • We put our house up for sale. (Yes, the one we have only owned for 1 year.)
  • We found a pet friendly apartment in the city of Dallas, Texas.
  • Our house had an above asking offer placed within 24 hours of it being on the market.
  • Danny left his current career to follow his passions. He will be attending a Biblical College (CFNI).
  • I will still be working at Gartner with the same team, but based out of the Irving, TX location.
  • Our official move in date in Dallas is August 16th. August 14th we will hit the road with our four fur-babies, my dad, and our good friend Kevin. We are fortunate to have supportive family and friends helping make this transition smooth.

What I am Grateful for:

  • Our family and friends for supporting this decision. We are literally picking up our lives and relocating in ways that might not make sense to them.
  • Gartner, but most specifically my amazing boss. Her support made this transition possible.
  • Pet Friendly Communities… as silly as that sounds, I would not be able to move without being able to take our pets with us.
  • Our Realtor. The Huffman’s are a dream team that have really eased our anxieties about selling our home.
  • God…. Our faith is really what brought these changes on. Without it, this wouldn’t even be happening, and I know in my heart it’s the start of a beautiful journey.

When we first approached my brother James about this plan, he paused, thought for a moment, and said, “Sounds crazy enough to be God.”

So I leave you with this… follow your gut like a radar. It will never lead you astray and sometimes… it will pluck you from your white picket fenced home in the suburbs and place you smack dab in the middle of a city you’ve never been.

Yep, James is right. Sounds crazy enough to be God.
